Having Unidentified Breathing Problems! Any Advice?!

Question:

Having Unidentified Breathing Problems! Any Advice?

The other night I woke up and felt like I wasn't getting enough air. I went to the ER but I was getting enough oxygen. I've been to a psychiatrist and a medical doctor but no one knows what's wrong with me. When I have these breathing "episodes" I get short of breath, but I have been tested and I get the oxygen I need (it feels like there's a huge lump in my throat, like when you're trying not to cry), I feel like there's no saliva in my mouth, and sometimes I shake violently and cannot stop. Other things are I get very dizzy and today I almost fainted. I felt somewhat like throwing up-- but never did-- and I don't have as big an appetite as I had before this all started. I also had chest X- rays; everything should be in working order. Please help me! I'm so scared and I really need advice!

Answers:

Sounds like an anxiety attack. I know just enough about medicine to be dangerous so you can take my advise on your problem with that in mind. But it sounds like you are having an anxiety attack. Be very honest with yourself--is there anything going on in your life that could be causing you to have these "episodes"? Sometimes it is buried so deep in your subconscious that the only way it can manifest is by some physical response.
