Glucapaghe for type 2 diabetes?!

Question: Glucapaghe for type 2 diabetes!?
I was told 5 months ago that I have type 2 diabetes!. I was put on 1000 mg of glucapaghe(metformin) 500 mg twice daily!. My A1C has went from 8!.3 to 7!.3!. My doctor just increased my dosage to 2,000 mg per day 1,000 twice daily!?
Is that too much!. I have been losing weight and exercising also!?
How much do you take!? Has it helped!?

Keep up the good work!. Yes, it is very common for the doctor to change the dosage of your medications!. He may be trying to see how your body responds to higher dosage, but don't be surprised if he lowers it again!. Good going on lowering your A1C!. When I was on metformin, my doctor also increased my dosage!. Many doctors will not start you out on a dose too high because of the side effects that metformin can have in the beginning, especially with a high dosage!. Your body gets used to the drug, and then can handle a higher amount!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

One of the problems with type 2 diabetes is that it is progressive and does as it pleases when it pleases no matter what we do to try to control it!.

Max dosage of regular Glucophage/Metformin is 2500 per day!. this comes to 5 of the little tabs you are taking!.

Some of us start with just one pill and it escalates to where we are taking a cocktail of pills and then sometimes insulin injections to control the glucose!.

I am taking 3 Met XR pills per day, one in morning and 2 at night and long acting insulin injection daily and sometimes instant insulin injections when nothing else is working!.

I am insulin resistant so have to take the Met no matter what!. I am not eating out of the ordinary MyPyramid frame!. I don't have any starchy foods, grains, rices, cereals , sweet fruits or juices in my food plan!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
