Question: Gestational diabetes, is it okay to eat Tuna!?
I have gestational diabetes and am trying to assess if it's okay for me to eat a small tin of flavoured tuna each day with my salad!?

the amount i eat has:
530kj energy
17!.5g protein
6!.2g fat (1!.1g of which is saturated)

315mg sodium

i'd be eating it with a plate filled with salad (lettuce cabbage carrot corn low fat cheese alfalfa)

do you know if there is a limit on how much fish you should include in diet!?

Answers:
Tuna is okay to eat as part of a diabetic diet!. Canned tuna usually has a very high amount of sodium I would be more concerned with that!. I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy and ate tuna in moderation!. Fish in general is good for you and I don't think there is a limit you can eat!.
Yes, tuna has omega 3 in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think there's a problem with eating fish and GD!. However, in general, there are some that believe that tuna is bad for pregnant women, as there is quite a bit of mercury in tuna fish (magnified up the food chain from polluted waters)!.

Here's a good link on fish and pregnancy
