Lactose intolerant...?!

Question:

Lactose intolerant...?

Is it possible to become lactose intolerant at age 13? Im 13 years old and for a while my stomach hasn't been feeling right and my friend brought up that I might be lactose intolerant like her. It runs in my family too I think, as my uncle is lactose intolerant. Is it possible to just develop an allergy to milk after being an infant?? Like not having it when you are an infant but developing it afterwards??

Answers:

Yes, it's absolutely possible. Were you breastfed or bottlefed? Have you had much dairy in your life before now? Going through adolescence/puberty changes one's body chemistry and allergies that were heretofore not present can most definitely emerge. They did in me.
