I'm losing my eye sight!?

I need help with understanding this. What will my life be like without my sight? My worst fear is relying on other people. My husband David is blind. We never talk about it. It's I feel like a failure as a wife that I can't take care of my husband. David said he will help me. He wants to get a nanny to take care of the babies. I would feel like a bad parent. I would feel like a worthless wife and mother. Why is God allowing this to happen to me? Am I being punished by God? I need advice and help for any one who is a nurse or eye doctor.

I am legally blind, no vision in my left eye, tunnel vision in my right eye, and in addition to that am I hearing impaired. Since you did not mention what the diagnosis was is there little I can say about any possibilities, but there are eye diseases that progress very slow. I have been legally blind/deaf all my life but I have 2 grown children and I actually outlived my husband who died 14 years ago.
I have found something that seems to help eyes and ears, because 6 weeks into taking it is my color perception better and so is the sharpness of my leftover central vision in my right eye. I also noticed that my hearing in my right ear became somewhat better, so I am busy taking that stuff with hopes and prayers in my heart.

When it comes to losing your eye sight it is terrifying, but there are a lot of things out there that help. From mobility training with a cane to guide dogs to technical equipment and gadgets for the kitchen. I have an oversized timer for example, and special measuring cups, a special cutting board(with edges)and a super knife where I can't accidentially cut myself and special software for the computer is available(ZoomText magnifying and JAWS(which works with speech to let a blind know what's on the pc-screen).
