Head cold advice?!

Question:

Head cold advice?

my mom came down with a head cold. the works. runny nose sore throat, sinus pain ,pressure, fever. yet she still insists on going to work. she works in a pulmonologist office. so there are sick people there all the time. and she thinks that office is better for her than our house. look how can i help her get over her head cold.

Answers:

Since she works in a pulmonologist's office, the easiest thing is for her to ask her doctor so they can go to the sample closet and get her some free medications for her to get better. I am sure they really don't want her to be sick in front of all those patients who are at high risk of catching diseases and getting REALLY sick.

If she is that sick, she should wear a face mask. Tylenol will help with fever. Benadryl or Claritin can help with sinus and nose problem. Mucinex DM can help with coughing and congestion.

Honestly, she should stay home for a couple of days and get better. She would feel horrible if some of the patients come down with the same symptoms she has and get so bad that they end up in a hospital.
