What causes a high fever in an adult male, when he has no other symptoms?!

Question: What causes a high fever in an adult male, when he has no other symptoms!?
My husband has had a fever last week for 3 days, averaging around 101, and now again the past 2 days around 102!. He had no fever for 5 days and then it came back!. He has no pain anywhere and he doesn't feel sick!. He just has a fever!. Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing this!? Or how to break a fever!? Has this ever happened to you!?

Any help is appreciated!.

(And if the answer is "go to the doctor" I know that, I just can't get him to go, so i'm looking for another alternative, or any explanination as to why it is happening!.)

Thanks!. :-)

Sounds like a viral illness!. Acetaminophen (tylenol) can be used to reduce fevers!. That being said, any fever that lasts more than 48 hours or does not break with the use of tylenol needs to be evaluated by a physician because it could be indicative of a more serious illness!.

Why!?!? The body is SCREAMING or at least telling him something is not right!. At this point--the doctors might not be able to pin point the cause!. Also--the body might heal itself--if he is in good medical condition!. Time!. Just continue until it gets worse--I guess--or gets better!. And Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Even with no symptoms it could be a viral infection and he should see a doctor!. I know men can be stuborn but this is not normal and should be checked out!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
