Open and infected stitches, where to go from here?!

Open and infected stitches, where to go from here?

I got stitches, skin and disolvable. Some of the stitches opened up and got infected, and they restitched it but it opened up again cause of the infection. Now they say they give up basically, and i'm left with a hole half the size of a penny on my lower back. Is this really all I am left with or is there another option?

I've been given antibiotics, but they haven't seemed to help. I've been on them for a week so far. If I go to another doc would he be able to close the hole with anything... staples, stitches, etc?

Jeez - what kind of quack doctor did you go to? You need antibiotics to clear up the infection before they do anything else. I would go to different doctor or an emergency room before you get really sick.
