Do any animals get common colds?
I have a nasty cold at the moment and feeling sorry for myself. Are we the only species to suffer?
Answers:
They can get colds, certainly, fevers and illnesses.
Although with prey animals, such as birds, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other prey-like animals, they conceal their sickness. If they don't, and go around gasping, a predator is going to see it as an easy meal that won't fight back.
Predators, such as cats and dogs, usually you have more warning if they were to get ill.
