Why are only year 8 girls getting the cervical cancer vaccine?!


Question: Why are only year 8 girls getting the cervical cancer vaccine!?

It's a new vaccine and they are just starting it now-the best age to give it is in year 8 but some older girls can request it at their doctors if they want!. They'll give it to all girls (well, offer it to them) whenever they reach year 8!. It's a fantastic thing and a great idea-anything that helps prevent cervical cancer is a good thing!

I'm in the Uk so less confused than everyone else who thinks you meant 8 years old not year 8 in high school!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I assume you are talking about Gardasil!. It is nota cervical cancer vaccine it is a vaccine to prevent 4 strains of HPV!. The vaccine is for females aged 9-26, so I have no idea why an 8 y/o would be getting the vaccine!. Women up to the age of 26 are getting it also!.

GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone, and does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it
