Scebaceous cyst prevention?!

Question:

Scebaceous cyst prevention?

Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent cysts?

My sister and my dad have occational cysts. It runs in the family. They are not over weight. My sister had one on her neck. It got to be the size of a golf bal before the Doctor lanced it and stuck a tube on her and made her drain it for a week.

My dad gets little cysts all over his body. He manages to expel them himself.

I've had a few tiny ones, and I want to prevent them because they're disgusting. They contain more pus that you would imaging for such a tiny bump on your skin. I don't want one the size of a golf ball like my sisters.

Answers:

Sebaceous cysts don't contain pus unless they are infected. They contain solidified sebum. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles, excessive testosterone production, will cause such cysts. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do to avoid them.
I live with them too and they can be very uncomfortable but I can think of a lot worse things to suffer from!
