Well, usually for acne, you start with a topical medication that you can apply to the face!. If you are having severe acne, you would probably need some oral medication!. Usually, you start with an oral antibiotic combined with a topical agent so you can use something like tetracycline orally and then benzoyl peroxide!. Tetracycline is prescription but benzoyl peroxide is just over the counter so Pan-Oxyl is a product with benzoyl peroxide!. If it's more severe or the oral antibiotic and the topical agent doesn't work, then you move onto either oral contraceptives (birth control pills) or Accutane!. You should really consult your physician on what medication is best for you!. There are pros & cons to everything!. Accutane is pretty much the strongest anti-acne agent but it also has its side effects!. For example, accutane is teratogenic and can cause birth defects in the fetus!. That's why females of childbearing age must have pregnancy tests regularly and use methods of birth control or remain abstinence!. Of course, there are other side effects as well and if you are interested in knowing more, talk to your pharmacist!.

Also, be aware that these medications usually do take time to work so don't expect your condition to have major improvements after using these products for a week!. It may take up to 4-6 weeks for improvements to become apparent!. Also, make sure you are taking these medications properly because that can highly affect the outcome of your therapy!. For example, if you were taking tetracycline orally, take it on an empty stomach and if you do get stomach upset from it, just take a light snack!. Make sure you don't take any milk or antacids or calcium supplements or iron supplements with the tetracycline because that will decrease your body's absorption of tetracycline which means that the drug may not work as well or may not work at all!. So it is really important that you take the medication properly and if you are unsure on how to take the medication, ask the pharmacist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Acne is usually caused by increased hormone levels!. You should talk to your doctor about possibilities for other treatments if what you are using isn't working!. Beware of using any products for acne unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor!. Often both topical and oral antibiotics are needed to treat acne, and sometimes topical benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and/or retinoids!.

People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne!. Some cures I
