Why does Superstore keep it's gluten free flour with normal flour?!

Question:

Why does Superstore keep it's gluten free flour with normal flour?

My father in law is deathly allergic to Gluten. Even the smallest amount of gluten will make him terribly sick. So how does it make any sense for Superstore to put it's gluten free flour in the dead center of the Flour aisle. The whole package is contaminated with the flour that is on the outside of the package from leakage from the regular flour on top of it.

If you were cooking with it, you would touch the package and all your food would be contaminated.

I will never buy any gluten free products from Superstore

That would be like keeping the peanut-free stuff beside the peanuts

Answers:

This doesn't make any sense at all. Most stores do keep their GF items in a different aisle all together. If a store does carry any GF items, they are usually located in either the health food section and near the top shelf.

I would definitely tell the store manager what the problem is and why it is a problem. They are not doing anybody a service by carrying a GF item and then contaminating it before it's even purchased.

If they don't change the items location, find another store that carries and displays it properly.

Good luck.
