Question: Can your muscles cramp up because of high blood suger!.!?
not going to lie my blood suger is like 500 and well my calf and shin muscle (really weird for the shin muscle to cramp up) are like super cramping up in both legs and i can get them to go away but they keep comeing back!.

Yes, leg cramps are a side effect of diabetes!. They can also be a sign of other things: notably, potassium or calcium imbalances!. Have your doctor check you out thoroughly!.
PS: your sugar should not spike to 500 and then drop to 40 in one hour! you need to calibrate that meter, or get some new strips, or find out what ELSE is wrong with you! Are you taking steroids!? They can cause very high sugar spikes--and cramps too!. (Besides being dangerous in many many other ways!)

Yeah, having a high blood sugar does cause cramping of muscles or tighting!.Be careful, having a high blood sugar for a long time can cause serious problems!.I'd see a doctor or go to a health dpt if you can't get your blood sugar to go down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
