What causes a scratchy throat? 10 points for the best!!!?!

Usually it's allergies or maybe mucus!.
Gargling doesn't help!. Once it got so bad for me that I stuck my finger down and scratched it!. that helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i get this, its awful, i start coughing then nearly sick, i slap the top of my neck, i really don't know what causes it, but i do know i always get it in the must embarrassing places like at work when I'm serving, or on the bus in front of everyone!. ive learnt now to cough along with it instead if trying to fight it because that's what makes mine worse!. also if i have had a cough cold or sore throat it seems to happen when it is clearing up, but i can get it without symptoms of colds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
