the lump appears to be a an odd shape attached to the side of the testicle.

Answers:

Only a doctor can tell you what this might be. No one here is able to do that. I would urge you to tell your parents that you want to go see a doctor. Tell the parent you feel most comfortable with what the problem is . . hopefully they will take you seriously. If not show them the following information:

NCI: Testicular Cancer

Medline Plus: Testicular Cancer

The problem here is that testicular cancer is one of the more common cancers in young men. It is the third most common cancer for young males in your age group (15 to 19). So, you really need to check out any odd lump or bump. If caught early, Testicular cancer is treatable and curable.

Possible signs of Testicular cancer that warrant a check up by your physician:

1. A painless lump or swelling in either testicle

2. Change in how the testicle feels.

3. Dull ache in the lower abdomen or the groin

4. Sudden build-up of fluid in the scrotum
pain or discomfort in a testicle or in the scrotum.

Lance Armstrong had advanced Testicular Cancer. He was 25 years old and too embarrased to go to a doctor. By the time he did go to a doctor the cancer had spread to his brain. But that was ten years ago. He survived.

Do not wait. Go see your doctor.
