Yes, they do. I have a nephew who is bi-polar and got disability on the first try. That is unusual, as you will usually get denied on the first 2 times. After you apeal, you can get it. It all depends on the wording that the Dr. writes up. Good luck! A lot of people don't think that mental illnesses are real, but they are so real. Who would ask for one on purpose? Good luck!! Hang in there; it will happen.
One more thing. Social security pays in arrears, so once you get approved, it will go back and pay from the first day you applied.
