Question: Have I ruined my lungs by smoking hookah once!?
I'm 18, in college, and i went out to a hookah bar, believing that hookahs weren't as bad as other tobacco products!. So anyways, I smoked some, and came back later that night!. I realized after some research that hookah is really bad for you, and I'm freaking out!. Have I ruined my lungs and increased my cancer risk from one time!? I don't plan on ever doing it again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A hookah is really bad for you!. In reseach studies they say that if you smoke a hookah on and off for 45 minutes to an hour that is the same as smoking 100 cigs!. also when going to a hookah bar you have the risk of catching something like herpes or something if the place has not properly cleaned the hookahs but because you only went there once you have not ruined your lungs tar builds up after smokeing constantly for years on end so you will be fine!. Your body is designed to repair itself when it's been damaged!. One time of smoking sheisha through a hookah will not hurt you!. It may have left a bit of residue on your lungs, but it is minimal and will eventually disappear!.
