Question: Creatine diarrhea problem!?
Ok, so Ive been taking a powder creatine supplement for about a week now!. Out of the 6 times ive taken it, today is the third time ive experienced diarrhea, but today also happens to be THE WORST!. It's actually pretty funny, it sounds like theres a gremlin riding a rollercoaster in my stomach, and my bathroom trips are well!.!.not pleasant!. I'm definitely going to be reducing my dosage for future workouts, but as for now is there anything besides bananas and water i can do to make ths go away!. I had a date and already canceled that and id hate to miss class tomorrow (thats how frequent my bathroom visits are)!. Any help is greatly appreciated!Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's a terrible predicament, Chris! If I were you, I wouldn't just reduce the creatine: I would stop it!. It sounds like your body is rejecting it anyway (and anything else in its path along your gastrointestinal tract)!. While you have diarrhoea, you really need to keep hydrated!. You lose a lot of water through the process so it's important to drink enough water to make you urinate every 2 hours!. You will be losing electrolytes as well so it's best that you get an electrolyte replacement from your local pharmacy!. I'm recommending you go there as, while you're there, you should buy some anti-diarrhoeal medication, such as Imodium!. Let the pharmacist know your story and see if he or she can recommend something else to try other than creatine (only have a minor in nutrition and I can't think of anything that would substitute creatine off the top of my head)!.
