Answers:
hiv is detected within 3 months in rare cases it will show up in 6 months!.!. you tested negative at 8 -81/2 months your negative!. your wife will be negative alsoWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you have only been with her in 3 years and you tested negative 8 months ago then that is plenty of time for the disease to show!. So the test would be very accurate!. Assuming she has been with nobody else and neither of you have use a needle, or got cut on an infected piece of glass (or something else, it could be anything) then she should test negative too!. I am only saying this because of the 3 years being together if you both have been with nobody else then the disease (if there was one) would have been easily communicated between you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes the test is accurate if you had HIV, but its possible to have sex with someone who has HIV and not get it for awhile and then contract after one thousand times of having sex!. So just because you tested negative then, doesn't mean you're safe if she has HIV!. You could have contracted HIV AFTER you took the test!. Just go to your local health department or look on the internet for places in your area that do STD testing!. Most places have the Rapid Test so you can take it and get the results back in 20 minutes!. It would be pointless for just you to get a test obviously, because if you suspect your wife has HIV then only her test should matter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

We can't tell you if your wife's test will be negative!. She has to be tested too!. After 8 months, your negative test should be accurate!. Usually, false negatives occur within 3-6 months after sexual contact!. You should be re-tested 6 months after the first test to be absolutely certain, but if you two are remaining monogamous, there's no need for continued testing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you both been faithful!?!? Because if you have then there is little risk!. Unless of course either or both of you are intravenous drug users!. Then there is a risk!. A huge one if you occasionally or habitually share things like needles, water, spoons and filters!.

You are also greatly at risk of Hepatitis B and C under these circumstances!.

Start using protection right now if any of these are risk factors for either of you!. Get tested asap in either case!. And at least you thought of it eventually!. But maybe it is not better late than never, hey!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well there is such things as False negatives, BUT they are Rare, I would say that yes your wife would also be negative and yes the test would be accurate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have to keep on and keep on taking the test
