Question: Has anyone given their child the flu shot even though they are allergic to eggs!?
My 19 month old with an egg allergy has asthma and her doctor would like her to have a desensitized flu shot at her allergist's office!. I understand her concern, because the flu can be very serious in an asthmatic child her age!. I am very worried though about injecting egg into her system!. She tested positive for egg allergy with a skin test at 12 months and she recently got into some cake with egg whites and was vomiting profusely and ended up having an asthma attack!. What could happen by injecting the egg into her bloodstream!? Has anyone gone through this desensitization with their young child!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with 'Hello Kitty'!. Seek a second opinion (maybe with a specialist in allergies) and that should help put your mind at ease!. It's an expensive way of doing things but worth it for the peace of mind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you are having doubts with your doctors decision, go seek a second opinion and make your decision based on that!.
