Diabetes is a regulatory problem!. You probably did experience hypoglycemia when hungry, but the flip side of that is that you could have been having high blood sugar after meals, which told your pancreas to pump out a lot of insulin, which then sent your blood sugars plunging once the extra glucose was accounted for!. So yes, it is understandable that you could be diabetic!. One of the hallmarks of diabetes is a high fasting blood sugar, which is the usual test for diabetes!. If you only had a problem with low blood sugars, you would not show high on this type of test!.

Everyone has low blood sugars at some point!. The difference between a diabetic and a non-diabetic is that if your endocrine system is normal, your liver releases a small amount of glucose to compensate and your blood sugars are normalized!. Think of some time when you were out walking around all day and skipped lunch; you might get shaky and tired for a bit, but if you were to sit down and rest for a few minutes, you'd feel better, like you got your second wind!. This is your endocrine system compensating for the lower blood sugar!. Eventually, you would have to eat but it gets you out of trouble temporarily!.

In a diabetic, they either can't do this because they've injected insulin and it's just plummeting artificially, or the liver releases TOO much glucose to compensate, resulting in a high blood sugar!. The regulation mechanism is off!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

People diagnosed with diabetes experience hypoglycemia when they have take too much insulin (or other medication) to compensate for the carbohydrates they have eaten!.
So many people on this forum self-diagnose hypoglycemia!. It is important to understand that hypoglycemia, when verified by a doctor, is a symptom of a disease or condition, it is NOT a disease!.
In your case, you did not have hypoglycemia, your symptoms may have simply been symptoms of hunger!. It is quite uncommon to have hypoglycemia without having some other condition!. Also, people tend to "crash" after having a lot of sugar and/or caffeine!. Do you drink energy drinks, then become shaky a few hours later!? Do you consume a lot of caffeine and/or sugar, then become shaky a few hours later!? Those can also explain your symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The symptoms for high and low glucose are similar!. There are some extreme differences!. High glucose and cause what is called a "sugar high" excess energy sometimes a cause of hyperactivity in children!.
extreme low glucose can cause fainting or even falling into a coma!.
both are easily controlled with medication!. You could use a meter to check your sugar level frequently at least for a few days to get some idea of your sugar level variations!.!.!.for best results test before eating or two hours after eating!. If cost is a problem try rely-on products sold by wal-mart about $20 for a package of 50 which will give you a start!.
Also you will need a meter!.!.!. they are relatively inexpensive but get the meter that is designed for the types of strips!.!.The meter will last for years so shop for the test strips first!.!.they vary widely in price and then get the appropriate meter!. Good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had hypoglycemia for many years before i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, a lot of times that can be the case, your body should regulate your sugars for you so you should not have low blood sugars if you are not diabetic!. if you do this can be(not always) a sign of your pancreas and your body not working properly producing too much insulin and eventually getting tired so to speak and giving out completelyWww@Answer-Health@Com

i guess that is why it is so important to go and see a doctor!. we cannot self diagnose, and we cant always trust the advice of others!. i always get concerned when people don't have diabetic related illnesses checked!. im glad your doctor is taking care of you!. i hope he can figure things out soon, and hope that he can get you back to feeling normal quickly!. good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
