Answers:
GoBlue- There is a difference between neoplastic and dysplastic!.
Dysplastic = abnormal growth or development of existing tissue!.
Neoplastic = relates to a new growth or tumor!.
"Dys" mean abnormal!. "Neo" means new!.
For example, in the cervix of the uterus, normal cells may undergo abnormal or dysplastic change which is not yet cancer, When sometimes the dysplastic changes worsen and a tumor forms, like a cancer of the cervix, the new tumor is a neoplastic change or neoplasm, arising from previous dysplastic changes!.
