Question: Swelling from ant bite!? (picture included)!?
I got bit on the foot by an ant about 34 hours ago!. It started swelling up within hours of the bite!. I went to the doctor this afternoon and he prescribed a steroid and an anti-biotic!. I took the first dose immediatly after getting the Rx filled!. It's not been about 7 hours since I took the meds and my foot still seems to be swelling!. I've been keeping it elevated with an ice pack on it, but it still keeps swelling slowly!.
Is there anything else I can do to stop the swelling till the meds kick in!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh my goodness, that is very swollen!.
You should only use the ice for 10 minutes at a time every hour!.!.!. and keep elevating it as often as possible!.
If after your 2nd dose the swelling does not start to go down somewhat!.!.!. or the swelling gets worse!.!.!. go to an ER!.

what kind of ant was it!? Was it a fire ant!? Try to mark an area to see if the swelling is getting larger!. It always appears to be getting bigger but with a mark from a pen or what have you, you can prove it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Take the medication as directed, wait a night, and if it gets worse, go to the hospital!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
