Is it a burn or just a blister?!

Question:

Is it a burn or just a blister?

I was walking my dog a few weeks ago, I was walking barefoot on the black asphalt (smart, I know :), and when I got home I discovered I had two nasty blisters. Could I have gotten a burn, and in result, a blister from really hot asphalt. It is summer, and it was hot outside, but I have no idea how hot the asphalt really was, but it felt really hot. :) I spent about 30-45 minutes walking. Thanks :)

Since you're saying it happened a couple weeks ago I assume the blisters have healed by now and you're just wondering what to do to stop this happening again :)

It could be either a burn or just a friction-blister -do you ever walk barefoot on pavement for that long when it's not hot? I've never had blisters from going barefoot but it's always important to work up to it slowly, if you never go barefoot outdoors it could be enough just to walk 30-45 minutes regardless of the temperature... nothing wrong with going barefoot, but if you're not used to it take shorter walks at first.

And if you do walk when it's hot, try keeping to the shade or if there is none, use the white painted lines & other lighter areas! I think there were more tricks I've read about from fellow barefooters in warmer climates but since it never gets that hot here where I live, I don't recall every detail. Some folks work up a great tolerance to hot pavement, but this also takes time to build up, give your soles time to adjust.
