So I just started taking oxytetracycline for acne... Can someone help me?!

Question: So I just started taking oxytetracycline for acne!.!.!. Can someone help me!?
Ok I have to take 4 oxytetracycline tablets a day for my spots!.

I've heard some pretty contradicting comments on this drug!.
Some say it works, some say it doesn't, some say it made them i'll, some say it was amazing, some said it makes your spots even worse!!?

What is your experience from using this drug!? How long can I expect to wait before I see a difference!? Will it get worse before it gets better!?!

Thankyou for reading!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There are lot of references to this drug and acne on Answers!. I must admit, before I began Answers my understanding from the dermatologists in the West of Scotland, is that they wrote it off as obsolete years ago!. I had certainly not seen it in common use for 15 years anyway!.

It has a number of problems, though it is certainly still licenced for acne use!. Firstly it is twice a day, secondly I don't believe it is as effective as its successors, thirdly it has to be taken on an empty stomach and without milk or antacids!. Doxycycline is another acne drug I had not seen used for years, it is once a day, but if not taken on a full stomach it produces severe heartburn and abdominal pain!. It can also produce photosensitivity problems!.

Of the drug group tetracyclines, lymecycline and minocycline are probably the choice of most dermatologists!. They are both once daily, can be taken at ant time and are more effective!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My boyfriend took it- it didn't work for him, also be careful to follow the directions on the packet- its a v strong drug you can't be taking any other medication and dries out your skin a lot- so much so that you can't wax your eyebrows or anything like that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i put up with it for 6 months then admitted defeat it made me feel sickly and didnt touch my acne! how ever would try it, it may work for you and you may not get any side affects, everybody reacts differently!. if you do get side affects go and see your doctor xWww@Answer-Health@Com
