Question: Is it absolutely necessary I get a tetanus shot after I pierced my foot with a rusty nail!? !?
It didn't go all that deep from what I can tell, but I don't think I've had a tetanus shot in at least 4 years!. Do I still need one just to be safe!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

rusty nails and barbed wire fences are the main reason some of us get tetnus boosters much sooner than other people do!. they are loaded with nasty germs and I would much rather deal with the slight soreness of getting an additional booster than to get lock jaw!! that can be permanent and fatal!.
And I happen to be allergic to horse serum meds which includes the tetnus shots!. they give me hives which is nasty, but much nicer than dealing with tetnus!.
It would be a good idea to go ahead with the tetnus booster just to be on the safe side!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

take the shot in your buttock not the arm so that it does not feel painful later!.
keep your foot dry as much as possible until the wound heals

Can you ring your regular doctor clinic!. They would have records!. If you cant get this info it would be better to be on the safe side!. Time goes so fast so it could well be longer than 7years!. I would be getting a tetanus shot anyhow because Tetanus the disease is pretty nasty!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think you only have to have a tetanus booster shot every 10 years!.

Tetanus shot boosters are recommended every 10 years!. Call your doctors office to make sure yours is up to date!. Yes, it is absolutely necessary to make sure you are covered!Www@Answer-Health@Com
