How low does blood pressure have to be for it to cause a problem?!

Question: How low does blood pressure have to be for it to cause a problem!?
My blood pressure is around 100/55!. My resting heart rate is usually around 60 or less!. I almost always feel very faint upon standing, and can suffer bouts of physical exhaustion, with no real apparent cause (like today, which has prompted me to ask the question)!. My doctor has said as far as blood pressure goes - "the lower the better", BUT, she adds, this only holds true if the low blood pressure does not cause symptoms!. So this is my question!. I feel as though my low blood pressure DOES cause symptoms, which include not only these, but (I believe) also the annoying symptom of always being cold!.!.!.!.is there anything that can be done about low blood pressure!?!?!? P!.S - I am in really good physical shape!.34 years, 5'4, 130 lbs, Exercise regularly & eat all my greens!. Fit as a fiddle according to my doc!.!.!.just in case this factors!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, I'd be willing to bet your blood volume is the problem and not the pressure!. Most americans walk around half dehydrated, the body needs a minimum of two liters a day to function efficiently, and I'll wager you don't drink nearly that much every single day!. Give it a try, you might find that your overall health improves drastically!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A normal blood pressure for you would be 120/80!.

Anything below 90/60 commonly causes symptoms!.

Your bottom blood pressure number of 55 is low!. It is possible that your blood pressure is causing symptoms but doctors usually do not like to put patients on medications that heighten blood pressure as they can have nastier side effects!.

Keep checking your blood pressure and report 7-10 readings to your doctor!.

Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
