Do herpes move around?!

Question: Do herpes move around!?
Or do they always stay in the same spot!?

If you had herpes in more than one area, would they all come at once or at different times!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Usually they stay in the same spot but they can move!. I used to only get cold sores in two spots but now I get them in about five different spots on my lips INCLUDING a spot just outside my mouth (UGH) right below my lip!. So basically it is herpes on my face, not just my mouth!. LAME!.

They don't always spring up all at once but the infection can "re-seed" itself!. So if you get sores in one spot when they burst they can spread themselves to another spot!. :(

Also keep in mind you can infect other areas of your body if you are not careful so never touch your sores and then touch your eyes or your genitals!. EEK!

Edited to add: River is right about what she says, too!. I'm not sure if that is what you are asking but if you have oral herpes they won't appear on your genitals or anything, they'll stay in your mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They stay in the general region of the body, but can move around that area!.

For example, genital herpes can appear anywhere covered by a pair of boxers!. I have had outbreaks at the front, at the back, on the labia, on the left, on the right!. It does have a favourite spot but at least one out of every two outbreaks is somewhere completely different!.

Oral herpes will only recur around the mouth and nostrils, but can appear at any point on the lips!.

If you have both oral and genital herpes - separate infections with two different herpes viruses caught at different times, or two infection sites of the same virus, caught at the same time, then you can get outbreaks orally and genitally at the same time or just orally or just genitally!. Either way you are more likely to get an outbreak if your immune system is low!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been researching this topic for about a week because I was just diagnosed yesterday with herpes and most sites say that when you have another outbreak it tends to appear where the first one was, but it isn't always in the same spot!. Also, they tend to be less severe!. I'm still experiencing my first outbreak so I can't say from experience, but this is just what I've read on various health websites!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Herpes doesn't move all around your body!. If you have genital herpes, that doesn't mean that you'll get lesions on your mouth or other parts of your body, and your genital herpes can only be spread from your genitals, not your mouth!.

I've read that the herpes lesions can appear anywhere in the genital area, regardless of exactly where your first outbreak appeared!. My experience is that I have two or three spots on my genitals where I get outbreaks!. Never anywhere else, and not always all three at once!.

I think that the same is true for oral herpes, although you would need to ask someone about their cold sores for that!. I seem to recall that friends of mine who got cold sores got them in various places around their mouth - not always in the exact same location!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
