Question: Can you get cancer from an animal!?
i was thinking yesterday, if you are eating chicken and that chicken has cancer, and you eat the lump of cancer (the tumor) what happens!?
could you contract the cancer!? or is the cancer only live if it is living of live cells!?

Cancer is initiated from cell replication, division and growth!. Sometimes when cells are created during mitosis they are not replicated exactly and have a fault which is then replicated again and again!. This replication of the diseased cell is what forms the cancer!.
If you eat a chicken cancer nothing will happen because not only is the cancer dead like the chicken, but it will be totally destroyed by the acid in your stomach!. No it's not possible!. Meat is usually cooked when you eat it which breaks down the cells!. Even if you ate raw tumour filled meat (if you were so inclined), and your stomach acids and digestive enzymes didn't break down the cells, an animal cell wouldn't be capable of living or growing in the human body!.

Yes, you can get cancer from the animals!. Say when you happened to eat pork with cancer (the taste of the meat is different from the actual taste of the meat) the cancer will grown in your body!. That is why every meat sold in the market must be examined by the Meat Inspector!.

Cancers themselves are not infectious, though some are caused by viruses that are spread from person to person such as HPV and cervical cancer!. However as far as I am aware there are no zooanotic viruses ( viruses that can spread between humans and animals!.) that produce cancers!. So the answer would be no!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
