High blood pressure medication?!

Question:

High blood pressure medication?

My husband is taking high blood pressure medication. It warns against sun exposure while taking it. I did not know about this warning. We went to a local waterpark and he did not feel well after a few hours. His Mother told him that the sun exposure while taking high blood pressure meds can cause congestive heart failure. He had similar problems when we went to Great America in June. I thought that when drug warns against sun exposure that that mean he's more sensitive to the sun for burns and the like.

Answers:

I found that my medicine made me a little queasy when I was out in the sun or just on a hot day. I drank a lot of water and took a cool pack with me to put on my neck and chest when I got hot. I also used lots of sunscreen (SPF 50) whenever I was going to be exposed to the sun. He will be fine, don't worry about what his Mom said, just make sure he is more careful in the future, I don't have any more problems.
