How long does it take for Salicylic acid to remove a wort? and what happens?!

Question:

How long does it take for Salicylic acid to remove a wort? and what happens?

my daughter has a wort on the bottom of her foot along the side that bears weight.. she was given a perscription for Salicylic acid... I asked the doctor how long I should use it for and his response was "till it's gone" so I'm asking yahoo answers now.. how long will this take?? I've applied it to her wort everyday since wednesday.. I know it'll take longer than a week.. but i'm just looking for a timespan. Also.. how will I know if the Salicylic acid is working? what happens to the wort.. I'm generally misinformed on this whole situation.

it is not a plantars wort. Does this dr.scholls thing work on plane old worts.

Answers:

If it's a plantar wart he shuold have put liquid nitrogen on it to freeze it and kill it. Worked great with mine and painless, just a one time application. I know you can get a Dr Scholl's wart remover over the counter at drugstores, it's the same thing, freezes it off. Something to consider in the future.

From the online description:
For removing common warts and removing plantar warts from the bottom of the foot. Removes warts fast with as few as 1 treatment. Safe to use on kids ages 4 and older. This easy-to-use kit has everything you need to quickly and effectively remove common and plantar warts. Using the same treatment method that doctors use on their patients, Freeze Away Wart Remover freezes the wart immediately, causing the treated wart to fall off in as few as 10 days. By the time the wart falls off, healthy new skin will have formed underneath. For the removal of common warts: common warts are skin-colored, usually appear on the hands and feet, and are recognized by the rough 'cauliflower-like' appearance of the surface. They are harmless growths that consist of a center of inner skin (or connective) tissue with blood vessels covered with layers of outer skin (or epidermis) tissue. For the removal of plantar warts from the bottom of the foot: plantar warts are recognized by their location only on the bottom of the foot, their tenderness, and the interruption of the footprint pattern. Planter warts grow inwards and are often flat due to the pressure caused by walking. They are often callused and painful.

All I know is that if I ever get another wart again I'm getting that to save about $50 on Doctor's bills.
