Question: Small case of Mono, starting steroids!?

I just got my results from my doctor and she said I have a small case of mono!. I am not tired or weak all I have been doing is crying cause of the pain in my throat!. My tonsils are so swollen I cant even eat!. She subscribed steroids to shrink my tonsils!.!.!. How long will it take to start working, also once I start them will the puss and mono go awayWww@Answer-Health@Com

Steroids work fast (I presume prednisone)!. It is an anti infalmmatory and will not fight the infection!. Mono is cause by EBV (epstein-barr virus)!. So anti-virals may help, antibitotics would only stop a secondary infection!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was prescribed steroids for tonsilitis once, they took effect the next day!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
