Question: Low platelet count, is that a sign of cancer!?

my mom has been real sick this last month and has lost over 20 pounds and can't keep nothing down!. she went to the doctors last week and they found blood in her bowels and also did blood work and said that her platelet level was low last week and then had another blood test this week and found that her platelet level was even lower than last week!. could this be the sign of cancer and if so what kind!? she goes to see a cancer doctor in two weeks!. i am very scared for her!. can you all please say a prayer for her!. her name is glenna and she is only 55 years old!. thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry she has been so sick!. These symptoms are certainly worrisome, but the most important thing right now is to figure out what is wrong!. Clearly something is going wrong in her blood!. Wait to find out exactly what it is before panicking!. It might be something very treatable!. Even some leukemias and lymphomas can be cured these days!.

Make sure someone is going with her to her doctors appts!. It is really hard to ask detailed questions when one is not feeling well!.

can be a sign of cancer, tumor, or a hemophilia disease!. just make sure she does many follow up appointments with her doctor!. i would reccomend that u take her to the emergency room since there is blood in her bowels, It could be really serious as she might be losing alot of blood due to internal bleeding!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
