I have no idea how old you are now which is probably what you wanted, but your current age may give me an idea whether you're likely to have flatback or not!. Flatback is common with Harrington rod patients and is very painful!. A couple of things to look for are a forward lean when you're walking!. Along with that is that your knees are usually bent!. In fact, if you straighten your knees, you lean farther forward!. Bending knees is the only way to straighten yourself when standing or walking!. You'll need to see a scoliosis specialist if you have flatback!. People qualified to treat flatback aren't common!. I can give a few suggestions based on where you live if you have it!. (I have it but mine came with Luque rods!.) A good web site is http://www!.scoliosismd!.com/articles/flat!.!.!.

You also might consider seeing a pain management doctor!. There are many meds that are either taken by themselves or in combination with other meds!. The key is to keep your pain doc informed when something isn't working (after giving it a reasonable chance to work)!. This should be done only if surgery isn't possible or you still have problems even after surgery!.

Lastly, you can try a heating pad and sleeping with a quilt rolled up into a cylinder under your knees!. These give very temporary reductions in some people's pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
