Those would be your tonsils!. When they become infected or inflamed they can lead to strep!. An ENT can remove those for you as well as your adenoids!. The adenoids are a spongy organ just behind the uvula (hanging punching bag) in the back of your throat!. The procedure lasts about 30 minutes and will help with this if it is a big problem for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello, if you are referring to the front of your neck, (either side of the trachea), you have successfully located your thyroid gland!. The normal thyroid gland is about the size you mention!. Larger or smaller can mean medical issues; and there are all kinds of symptoms attached to having either an enlarged or shrunken thyroid!.

If you mean at the back of your neck, it is likely to be a lipoma, a benign (non-cancerous) eruption, commonly between fat layers caused by some degree of trauma to the neck incurred at some stage!.

So, nothing to worry about in either case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Those are lymph nodes!. Do you have an infection or sinus problems!? If it lasts a long time you might want to get it checked by a doctor!.

If they aren't sore or enlarged I wouldn't worry, they are supposed to be there!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
