Answers:
Some antidepressants treat both anxiety & depression!.
If you are just having anxiety, the xanax can certainly work, but as mentioned it is addictive!. there are other anti-anxiety medications that are less addictive, so certainly tell your doctor you took one of your mom's pills & that it helped!.-- withholding the information won't get you the right treatment!.!.!.!.but dont' take any more of it until your doctor prescribes a dose that is right for you!.
it's possible you felt worse from stopping your effexor as well- you need to wean off that slowly or it can make you feel bad

Xanax is a medication used to treat anxiety!. You have to be careful when using it because it can be addictive but if you're feeling much better after taking it, It's probably the right medication for you!. Talk to your doctor about the pros and cons about this med so you can decide whether to continue taking it or look for another alternative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

xanax is not an antidepressent, rather it is an anti anxiety medication!. You should not be taking medications that are not prescribed for you as there are many risks with side effects, wrong dosing etc!. You need to see your doctor and discuss this with him/her and maybe he/she can put you on a low dose if it is suitable for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Xanax is not an antidepressant!.
Please be careful when you stop taking antidepressant medications!. Make sure you check this out with your DR!.!. OK!? I am glad you found something that works for you!. I hope you are right back to 100% soon!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
