Question: I know head rushes from standing up too soon are common, but is this normal!?
I stood up from sitting down on the couch, i diddnt think i got up really quickly, But i went very dizzy like a black muzziness in my head, my hearing went faint also, but then i felt like i was going to faint so went into a sitting position!. the scary thing is when i sat, my upper body started jerking quite badly, mostly my arms and hands, and my legs were shaking, myhead felt like it had pressure inside!. I couldnt stop it, and the feeling of being ou tof control of my body movements was horrible!.

You should see a doctor!. It may in fact be nothing!. I do know that when I faint, my body twitches!. There is nothing wrong with me, other than the cause of the fainting!. It is a slightly uncommon thing to happened, but is certainly part of the characteristic of fainting!. I do have to say that it freaked out one doctor when I did it in her office, she hadn't actually seen it happen before!.

It sounds as if you have had a number of near faint incidences, possibly related to positional hypotension!. You need to see your doctor about this and try and find out what is going on!. Next time, try putting your head between your knees or lay flat and breath rapidly - it may help to bring the blood back up to your head (works for me)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"Head rushes" are normal when you stand up, and are generally just a variation in your blood pressure for a few seconds as your body tries to regulate it, and generally not harmful!.

What you're describing, however, seems to be a bit more than that!. "Head rush" should not be accompanied by the jerking and shaking you've described!. My suggestion is to seek the opinion of a physician!. If you don't have insurance, your local walk-in clinic may be an affordable option!. At the very least, enter your symptoms on a site such as WebMD (Symptom Checker) and see what they might suggest as reasons for your symptoms!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My wife had these symptoms and went to the GP, and was diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency caused anemia!. It is easily treated though so there's nothing to worry about!. So I guess my advice would be visit the GP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you had your blood pressure checked recently as this can be a sign that it is low!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What you are describing does not sound like a "head rush"!. You should see a neurologist to see what is going on!. The doctor will most likely order an EEG and some blood work!.

Good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com
