I have Thyroid cancer was diagnosed on Aug 28th ?!

Question: I have Thyroid cancer was diagnosed on Aug 28th !?
My husband has done very little to show that this bothers or scares him!. And it scares the crap out of me!. I have 4 boys who I stay home with and no help with house work or anything!. My parents don't seem to say much about it either!. Why is it that the word Cancer doesn't bother my family and why is it that nobody is here to help me!. I have been told by so many people that if i need anything to let them know but yet these same people haven't spoke to me since I told them about it!. I cried last night for half an hour and still feel the need to cry and I honestly don't know why it took me this long to even cry this hard about it!. I can barely handle staying home with my kids!. Im stressed out and just moody as hell!. Please someone tell my why nobody seems to care and why is it my own husband acts like theres nothing wrong!. I have so many thoughts going thru my head and its not good for me to be getting this stressed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

While I can't tell you what your prognosis may be, I can tell you that thyroid cancer has one of the HIGHEST curable rates out of all cancers!. It has a 97% cure rate if treated properly, of course, there are variables involved too!. I hope and pray in your case that this is a papillary cancer and is isolated which can be removed completely!.

As far as your family, I'm sure they are scared to death and this may be their way of them thinking they are helping you by not reacting to the situation!. Like one of the previous responses, people who are not well educated (not meant offending) regarding cancer and treatments automatically think it's a death sentence!. I can tell you as a healthcare provider, it is NOT!. Talk to your husband and let him know you NEED his support!. There are also many support groups available, I know this doesn't completely replace your family and friends, but it may be helpful!. I wish you the very best, my dear :)
EDIT:
I'm glad to hear it is papillary, this is the most common thyroid cancer and has an EXCELLENT success rate!. Keep yourself positive, I really believe that positive thinking is a crucial key to surviving and beating cancers!. :) My heart is with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

really!.!.it sounds like your family is scared as welll and don't know how to handel a situation such as this!. When people become scared they run away or avoid it at all costs!.
God bless your husband and know that treating cancer is so advanced then it use to be!. There is lots of help and support from various groups out there!. Seek a help group and it will comfort and give you a better understanding of the situation!.
All the best,

Everybody has a different reaction to bad news!. I'm sure they are all very concerned and would absolutely be there for you anytime!. Maybe the people you are talking about are nervous about talking about this because it's a sensitive topic to them, and they don't quite know how to express this!. All the luck to you!.

Listen, your family members are scared for you!. Cancer in our society has connotations of a death sentence!. It doesn't have to be that way, but for the most part it isn't good news!. Perhaps they are in denial!. No one understands until it happens to them personally although it sounds like your family should be more supportive!. Talk with them when your nerves are stable!. Some things will have to change while you deal with this!. Either way, you need to take care of YOURSELF for now since you're not getting the support you need!. Find others cancer survivors - a support group in your area!. Do lots of research on your condition!. Eat healthier, exercise & look into organics and alternative therapies!. Research ALL of your options!. Your case may be one of the more curable types!. Get your thoughts sorted out & be strong for yourself so you can get through this!.

My uncle has a "mass" in his lungs and we're not sure what it is!. It doesn't help that he gets frustrated at us while dealing with this!. However, we could be more supportive of him, I just don't know what to do though!.

Hope the best for you!.

edit: write your questions on paper & bring it with you to your appointments so you won't forget to ask!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
