6 months post ABVD chemo - white cell count is fine. Am i really immuno depresse!

Question: 6 months post ABVD chemo - white cell count is fine!. Am i really immuno depressed!?
In April I finished chemo for Hodgkin's Lymphoma and with the help of Neulasta my white cell count remained perfect the whole way through!. 6 months on it is still perfect but i've been told that i am 'immuno depressed' by my oncologist!. I always gathered it referred to my white cell count but obviously not!. I know i could easily ask my oncologist but i'm not seeing him til November and wouldn't call him to ask such a thing because he's such a busy bloke! He's told me i'm strictly not aloud to get pregnant or have any vaccines (flu, cervical cancer etc) for at least a year but why exactly is this!?!? Thanks is advance :) Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Even though your WBC is good, your bone marrow and stem cells have still been through the wringer, so to speak!. A normal WBC doesn't mean that your immunoglobulins, antibodies, etc!. are all working perfectly!.

It is smart to be careful!.

And BTW, congratulations on your remission!. It is great that you are doing so well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
