How do i get rid of my humongous callous?!

Question:

How do i get rid of my humongous callous?

it sticks out to the point where one of my "friends" laughed and made fun of it.
it's huge. like, really big.
this one time i was so annoyed by it, i cut it off, and filed it down. BiG MiStAkE. It ended up all red and my cut marks were uneven and very noticable.
i'm extremely embarrased about it, i even walk around covering it up with bandaids.
my bffs say that it's completely normal and blah blah blah but their's isn't half the size of mine!!

Answers:

I don't know where your callous is, but a callous is really just very dry, over-abused skin. Taking special care of it will help reduce or even eliminate it. Mine are on my feet. I don't care for them as well as I should, but I'm a lot better at it and the callouses aren't as bad. My podiatrist told me about putting vaseline on my feet at night, wrapping them in plastic wrap, then putting socks on. This is an intense moisturizing treatment, and it really helped. I just didn't do it every night. He said if I did it every day for a couple of months, the callouses would fall off. Also, I use exfoliants. Like dead sea salts or bath rubs with a grainy texture. I rub it on my feet in the bathtub and then rub them with a pumice stone. After the bath, I moisturize. My feet are so much better. Good luck with yours.

Additional comment: I'm confused that the "nurse" thinks my idea is so bad, since my PHYSICIAN is the one who gave it to me. I would not recommend vaseline for anything internal, but it does make an excellent external moisturizer. That being said, olive oil and canola oil also make good conditioners.
