It also makes it hard to walk from the swelling/stiffness!.!.!.

The thing is !. It DEFINITLY does not look like posioson Ivy here!.!.!. something else is wrong!.!.!.!.!. I have looked up a few things!.!.!. such as maybe erythema!? but I really have no idea what it is or what to do about it!.!. of course I will try and make it to the doctor but I don't know when I will have the chance so for now It would be very comforting to just know WHAT it is and maybe something that could ease the uncomfortableness when walking!. So sorry your feeling bad but it could be still poison Ivy or poison sumac which I know is worst!.The thing is that if you where exposed to it maybe in the AM then washed your cloths in the PM it could have gotten on you at two different times so that's the reason for the out break later and this I know Because I too am VERY allergic to all kinds of poison Ivy!.You know what the best thing to do for it is a cortisone shot!.I know that doesn't sound inviting but it is the best way to start the healing process!.There is also a lotion over the counter called Ivy rest and it is good too but I still think your best bet would be to see your DR as it might have gotten infected by now and you may need an antibiotic!.Hope this helps!.Get well soonWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you need to get to your doctor right away!. Why guess and suffer!. Go to your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are absolutely correct it was poison Ivy (based on your description) but there is an area that was invaded by skin bacteria and now (as you correctly describe it) erythematous (red), and stiff with is indication of skin infection (early) or cellulitis!. The usual course is an abscess formation!. My advice is: the poison ivy most be treated!. You have several things to do (best having someone who can prescribe and hopefully see you) is to give you a 7-10 day of oral steroids (if you are an adult, best to taper down dose!. Also you need antihistaminic meds (Benadryl is ok, if you have no history of reaction to it),AND a topical steroid cream!. NOW, the infected area must be treated with antibiotics by mouth and on the skin (cream or ointment)!. It is very important to remember that poison ivy can desappear overnight with the first day of steroid (prednisone) but it will come back!. So finishing as directed by your doctor is important!. If there is any immune system problems or any underlying malignancy then let your doctor know before using steroids by mouth or injected!. I hope this helped answer your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
