Answers:

I feel your pain! I have the exact same thing going on right now, all the way down to the TMJ issues. Start taking Aleve for your TMJ every 6 hours or so for a few days, when it starts feeling better take two every night before you go to bed. This is what my TMJ doctor told me to do and it really helped with my headaches and earaches. Is relaxes the muscles in your jaw. I also sleep in a special made mouth guard every night. I know that you can buy a cheap one at the drug store (try that, you will be surprised at how much it helps as well).

As for being miserable right now, I would not take clariten...Try Sutifed instead. It is better at relieveing pressure. Lay your head on a heating pad for at least 30 min's on each side and it will help releive some of the pressure...you can also sleep on a heating pad for your jaw and it helps a lot for your TMJ.

When my TMJ really flares up bad, I do all three (take aleve, use my mouth guard, and sleep on a heating pad) but if it is not bothering me that day I usualy just take the aleve.

I would see a Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist for your TMJ if you havent already. I hope this helped and I hope that you start feeling better soon!

Update: I just read the answer above me about the Neti Pot. You should really try that...I have been doing it for a while now since I saw Dr. Oz do a thing on Oprah about it. It feels really good. You do not actually have to use a neti pot, I just use a syringe.
