Answers:
It is an intestinal virus that is going around in the US and most everywhere else!. It usually does go around this time of year!. The intestinal part consists of diarrhea, stomach pain and cramps, nausea, and vomiting, and can last (according to my doctor) from 24 hours to 4 days!. The other part is the flu, which can last up to 2 weeks, and strep throat (which must be diagnosed by a throat culture) and it can last 2 weeks or more!. Most of it just has to run its course, but you can treat each symptom as it occurs!. Anitbiotics do not help a cold!. The flu (must be diagnosed) can be treated with the newer flu medications by prescription (like Tamiflu) and strep must be treated with antibiotics!. It always seems that this time of year, that everyone is getting sick with something!. This is because school is now back in session and we are starting to spend more time inside with other people!. So, the bugs flourish and spread!. Remember that washing your hands often with soap and hot water can be the most effective way of not catching something from someone else!. If you know someone is ill, stay away from them, try to not be in a crowd of people if you don't have to!. If you get sick, stay home, so you don't give it to others!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I live in the US and would have to know more specific details about the strain to know its name, but it sounds like a strain of the flu!.!.not influenza but a stomach flu!. Depending on if the bug is passed by droplet or contact the best thing to do is to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer after touching doorknobs, phones, or any other shared surface!. Avoid crowded areas and places with poor ventilation as this can further the spread of the germ!. Take a vitamin supplement with zinc and vitamin c to boost your immune system!. Get plenty of rest and eat healthy to avoid rundown!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
