I don't think it would be hard to get an Rx from your doctor, if you have a good relationship with them!. Xanax is a great drug! When I've taken it, it just makes me feel more calm!.!.!.!.not zombie like relaxed but just more at ease!. Higher dosages make me sleepy, but that's about it!. I do not think it is a drug that you could take if you are a nursing mother though!. Xanax is more of a temporary fix!. As soon as it is out of your system, you are vulnerable again to anxiety!. It sounds like you need something a little more long acting like BuSpar, Cymbalta, Zoloft, Lexapro, etc!. Talk to your doctor and be honest with him/her about your feelings!. Xanax is usually pretty hard to get, simply for the reason that it falls under the class of drug know as Benzodiazepam- and is addictive!. Xanax is one of the shorter acting Benzos, therefore more potential for addiction!. Drug addicts use it to mix with Methadone so most GP's shouldn't be prescribing!. Talk to your Dr about an SSRI antidepressant, like Citalapram or Sertraline- less side effects, more effective for depression!. Good luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
