Question about genital herpes....kinda long?!
Question: Question about genital herpes!.!.!.!.kinda long!?
Ok so my husband had some sores on his weiner!. So he went to the doctor-which was at the student health center at the college he attends!. So the doctor didn't know if it was genital herpes or staph infection!. So he took a culture of it and gave him meds for staph!. Well as soon as my husband started taking the meds the sores started going away!. Well a couple days later the doctor called and told him it was genital herpes!.
So my question(s) are-
If genital herpes is so common-why didnt the doctor (especially a doctor at a college health clinic) recognize that it was herpes right away!?
My husband hasn't cheated on me and we've been together for almost 3 years!. Everything says that usually when you contract genital herpes it shows up a few weeks later and a fever usually goes with it-well my husband didn't have a fever or anything!? Could this be a false positive that he was given!? I mean if he has GH then we need to be careful but if it was only staph infection then I can stop worrying!.!.!.!.PLEASE HELP ME!

Wow!.!.!.!. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this!. After 15 years of marriage, my then-husband infected me!.!.!.!. all from a fling on the side!. The outbreaks will subside over the years!. However, both types of HSV will erupt for odd reasons and at inconvenient times; sun exposure, high arginine foods (nuts, chocolate, coffee, etc!.) and emotional stress can provoke an attack!. I have bought the online treatments with glowing testimonials only to be flooded with salacious emails, and dubious results, I have tried controlling it with diet and a quiet lifestyle, which was absolutely wonderful, as long as I was extremely well-disciplined!. Valtrex literally ended any concerns of outbreaks for me!. Please be aware of your body, as your husband must now be of his!. A "tingly" feeling at the site will precede all outbreaks or signs of shedding (you can become infected even when your partner does not have an outbreak)!. I agree with wermfud, except that GH may not be recognizable and may require a culture in order to be diagnosed!. Also the lesions may become become infected with staph, so there may be improvement when taking an antibiotic!. If the antibiotic is working and at the same time the herpes is subsiding, it would appear as if the problem simply was staph!. However, if the doctor has taken a culture and says it is herpes, then you can bet it is herpes!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Herpes can stay dormant for a long time, an initial first time break out can be brought out by injury or stress!. He may have had it for 5 years, but I would make sure it's not infidelity!. You may even be a carrier and not know it!.

Herpes can be dormant in your system for a long time!. That's what happened to me!. All of a sudden this last summer, I had an ulcer show up on my genitals and believe me, I haven't dated or had had sex in a long time!. I was completely flabbergasted when this happened!.
I have had the most stress of my life the last couple of months!.!.!.!.!.!.
and that's when I finally had an outbreak!. The first test said I was negative, but I had been exposed!. The next test was glaringly positive!. I haven't had an outbreak since and for all I know, I'll never have one again!.

he could have had herpes for YEARS before he even met you!. it could have been dormant and something triggered an outbreak!. the sores are often misdiagnosed and this is why so many people who have it think they don't!. it isnt always common that is shows up in the first moth after contraction, and some people never have an outbreak!. some people can go 20 years without an outbreak and then get it!. it just depends on how well your body naturally fights off the virus!. ps- false positives are pretty rare, especially with a swab test!.
