My dad keeps coughing?!
Question: My dad keeps coughing!?
My dad keeps on coughing now and then, it comes randomly to me anyways!. He smokes and I told him it's because he keeps on smoking but he shrugged it off!. It's a smokers cough, now I'm worried whats gonna happen next, is this normal to cough when your smoking!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah it is normal to cough when you smoke!. My mum smokes *sigh* and sometimes it can be really scary and i'm like ''Wtf!?!?'' O-o She needs to quit!. Tell him he better stop! HahaWww@Answer-Health@Com
There are many causes for cough!.!.!. and smoking is certainly one of them!. Smokers cough is relatively constant, and there may even be sputum associated with it!.
As with everyone, I would strongly encourage you to try to get your dad to stop smoking - smoking is associated with many diseases, not the least of which are stroke, heart attack, and lung cancer!.
Any change in the character of the cough (sputum colour & amount, severity/frequency, coughing blood), or developing other symptoms (chest pain, fever, shortness of breath) should be cause to seek prompt medical attention!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that first answer is completely irresponsible so do not listen to him!.
It isn't nice when you think that someone you care about is making themselves sick especially when it appears that they are not helping themselves!.
It is normal to cough when you smoke as it is your bodies natural reaction to trying to clear the muck out of your lungs and trying to force fresh air into your lungs!.
We all know that smoking is bad for us and as he is a grown up he will know and understand that!.
Don't worry about him too much (easier said than done) because we all have our lives to lead!.
I don't know what will happen next, no one can!. I know that smokers are at a higher risk of cancer but also, smokers can be perfectly healthy in that sense!.
Maybe you should tell your Dad that he is causing you concern!. My Dad used smoke and so I told him that he was scaring me and he stopped!.
