ELISA vs HIV RNA Test?!

Question:

ELISA vs HIV RNA Test?

I have tested negative twice using the rapid Orasure test, before and after my HIV RNA test, which came out to be positive (as of the first week of July). I had unprotected sex in early June, but he did not ejaculate inside of me.

What are my chances of being HIV+?

Answers:

Wow that was quite an answer from the first preson....... quite odd....

It would take at least 30 or as long as 90 days for your body to make antibodies that can be detected in a rapid test. Antibodies are your body's reaction to the virus.

HIV can be in Pre-ejaculate as well as ejaculate so unfortunatly there IS a risk that if your partner is + you may be infected...

I suggest waiting out the 90 days and testing again. Check out www.hivtest.org for free testing near you. Be safe in the mean time.
