Answers:

First off, don't go self-diagnosing yourself. You'll turn yourself in a hypochandriac. You can find a relevant symptom for every disease in normal, everyday aches, pains, and sensations. If you have gotten this cramping only 3 times in the past year, I don't think it's anything terribly pressing. Ever consider it may be gas in the works? You really have nothing to worry about where your appendix is concerned considering it's on the left side of your abdomen.
However, if your that concerned and afraid of the possibility of cancer, go to see your doctor if only for your own peace of mind. They can run a simple series of blood tests to assure that your hormone and blood count levels are normal. However, a doctor won't do that unless you really press the issue. At most, he/she'll probably feel your abdomen for anything abnormal.
Do yourself a favor and don't get all worked up at the thought of cancer, otherwise you may give yourself a real health problem... an ulcer.
