Heart attack or something minor?

Alright well my dad was out running yesterday and he said he stopped suddenly when his chest felt really heavy, like someone was stepping on his chest,, he said it passed eventually but there is still a dull throb in his chest, and he wont see a doctor, was that a minor heart attack? or something minor, thanks in advance to everyone, I'm really concerned.

I forgot to add that his family has a history of heart disease.

Unfortunately there is now way anyone can know if it is the start of something serious, something is serious, or if it was something minor. I know you said he won't see a doctor but he really should try to be convinced to see a doctor. If there is something going on serious they can begin tests to see what is going on and he can have treatment. I know that is not a minor or serious answer that you were looking for, but no one can no for sure until he is examined by a physician. It is better to be safe than sorry. Many people avoid situations like this because they are scared of what the doctor may say. Please continue to urge him to see a doctor for himself and his family.
